Sun-X secures patent for PV sensor that measures soiling, yield loss

Sun-X, a Germany-based company, has secured a patent for a sensor called Sunsoric that detects soiling levels on PV modules with high accuracy. The sensor uses a light source and receiver diode to assess yield loss due to contamination. Sun-X's algorithm adjusts for contamination and incorporates weather data to determine optimal cleaning time. They offer a cleaning robot called 'sunbotics'. Founder and managing director Pascal Liebold mentioned the importance of precise contamination data for calculating the ideal cleaning time.
