SunPower goes bankrupt

Residential US solar company SunPower Corp. has filed for bankruptcy. SunPower Corp. and Maxeon Solar Technologies separated in August 2020. Maxeon not shipping any product to SunPower Corp since Q1 2024. SunPower faces a liquidity crisis. Industry-wide solar installations down 20% nationwide in 2024. SunPower will sell assets, including Blue Raven Solar, to Complete Solaria, Inc. Demand for U.S. residential solar not impacted by SunPower's issues.
