Swift Solar bags US$27 million for US perovskite development

The US solar technology company, Swift Solar, has secured $27 million funding led by Eni Next for developing perovskite tandem solar cell manufacturing. The company plans to scale efficient and stable tandem technology to break ground on a manufacturing facility. Joel Jean, the co-founder and CEO, expressed the aim to strengthen the domestic renewable energy sector. Chinese giant JinkoSolar achieved a 33.24% conversion efficiency in perovskite-tunnel oxide passivated contact hybrid solar cell. Swift Solar anticipates cost reductions up to 30% in solar energy with perovskite technology.
