Hungary and Bulgaria collaborate closely in the fields of natural gas supply and nuclear energy. The two countries work together to ensure energy security through projects like the TurkStream gas pipeline. Minister Peter Szijjarto emphasized the importance of this alliance during discussions with Bulgarian Minister of Energy, Vladimir Malinov. Hungary receives a significant portion of its natural gas via Bulgaria and is increasing its reliance on the TurkStream gas pipeline. Both countries have nuclear power plants and aim to expand their nuclear energy capacity. Hungary views nuclear energy as vital for its energy security and strongly opposes any anti-nuclear initiatives.
