Third of Von der Leyen’s next European Commission to handle green transition, environment

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, nominated Teresa Ribera to head the European Union's clean, just, and competitive transition. Ribera would be one of three executive vice-presidents focusing on the green agenda. The appointment of members to the next EU executive body is under consideration by the European Parliament.
