Thistle Wind files Bowdun onshore scope

Thistle Wind Partners (TWP) has submitted the Onshore Scoping Report for the onshore infrastructure associated with its 1GW Bowdun Offshore Wind Farm project off Scotland. The report outlines the approach to the Environmental Impact Assessment, including baseline data sources. The Bowdun Offshore Wind Farm will be located 44 km out at sea to the east of Stonehaven and will connect to the grid in Aberdeenshire. TWP is in discussions with landowners to identify landfall, cable corridor, and substation options. Onshore wintering bird and intertidal surveys have been completed, and ecology surveys are ongoing. TWP plans to hold community consultation events in Aberdeenshire in October 2024.
