TU Delft presents 21.14%-efficient IBC-HJT solar cell based on molybdenum oxide hole collector

Scientists at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands developed a novel IBC-HJT solar cell using a MoOx-based electron collection contact stack. This design minimizes shunting losses and simplifies fabrication processes. The cell demonstrated a power conversion efficiency of 21.14%. Further research aims to exceed 24% efficiency, indicating significant potential for future photovoltaics advancements, particularly in tandem devices with perovskite-silicon.
