UK in dock over O&G exploration at wind sites

RenewableUK criticized the UK government's decision to grant oil and gas exploration licences in areas designated for offshore wind farms. The North Sea Transition Authority issued 31 new licences despite potential conflicts. The NSTA included a new clause for overlapping oil, gas licenses, and wind leases, after discussions with the Crown Estate and Crown Estate Scotland. RenewableUK emphasized the importance of prioritizing renewable sources like offshore wind over fossil fuels for both environmental and economic reasons.
