UK plans to slash VAT on residential batteries

The UK government is planning to remove VAT on residential battery storage when installed with rooftop solar systems. The Environmental Audit Committee is pleased with the consideration and will make representations to the Chancellor. The VAT zero rate for battery storage will last 5 years. Other measures include mandatory solar PV in new housing and ambitious targets by 2035.
