UK smart meter rollout is slowing down

Smart meter deployment has slowed in Great Britain with 780,800 smart and advanced meters installed in Q1 2024, a decline since 2021. By March 31, 2024, there were 35.5 million smart meters in homes and small businesses. UK government aims for 74.5% homes and nearly 69% small businesses to have smart meters by end of 2025. Electricity smart meter installations exceed gas installations.
