UNSW researchers warn of surprising TOPCon solar module vulnerabilities

Researchers from the University of New South Wales identified three new failure models specific to TOPCon solar modules that were not present in PERC panels. These failures relate to the materials and conditions during the module production, such as different encapsulants and exposure to high humidity and contaminants. The study highlighted that TOPCon modules are more susceptible to power losses and failures compared to PERC models under similar conditions.
