US approves 2-GW Maryland offshore wind project

The US Department of the Interior approved US Wind Inc’s Maryland Offshore Wind Project, developed by Baltimore-based US Wind, majority-owned by Italy’s Renexia SpA. The Biden-Harris administration greenlit 15 GW of offshore wind capacity. The project consists of MarWin and Momentum Wind phases totaling 2 GW capacity. The lease area is off Maryland and Sussex County, Delaware.
