US breaks Q1 record to add 11.8GWdc solar capacity in previous quarter

The US solar industry experienced significant growth in the first quarter of 2024, with record capacity installations and a focus on utility-scale projects. SEIA reported that solar accounted for 75% of all new electricity-generating capacity in Q1. Additionally, the US solar industry is expected to install about 40GWdc of capacity annually for the next five years, with total solar capacity projected to double by 2029. Domestic module manufacturing capacity also saw a substantial increase.
