US government lends $1.45 billion to Qcells for solar factory

The US Department of Energy Loans Programs Office has announced a conditional commitment for a loan guarantee of up to $1.45 billion to Qcells to support the expansion of its North American solar manufacturing operations in Cartersville, Georgia. The project is expected to create thousands of jobs, support the development of solar panels, and contribute to reducing carbon emissions. Qcells is a key player in utility-scale solar projects and is poised to benefit from tax credits and domestic content bonuses.
