Vast gets planning consent for solar methanol project in S Australia

Australian company Vast Renewables Ltd has secured planning consent for the Solar Methanol 1 (SM1) project in Port Augusta, South Australia. The project aims to produce 7,500 tonnes per year of green methanol by utilizing technology from Calix Ltd. It will be powered by a 30 MW/288 MWh CSP plant. Vast is partnering with German Mabanaft GmbH Co KG for funding, supported by the Australian and German governments through the HyGATE collaboration.
