Vattenfall's wind segment delivers increased profit in Q1

Vattenfall AB's wind segment saw a 9% increase in its underlying operating profit in the first quarter of 2024, reaching SEK 2.6 billion despite lower net sales. The increase was primarily due to higher generation at the Hollandse Kust Zuid and Vesterhav Syd wind farms in the Netherlands and Denmark respectively, and higher subsidies for German offshore wind farms which offset lower electricity prices. Net sales in the wind sector declined by 7%, but the sale of the Norfolk offshore wind projects contributed to an overall profit increase.
