Vietnam to launch new net-metering scheme for rooftop solar

Vietnam is introducing a new net-metering scheme for rooftop PV installations, allowing up to 20% excess PV electricity to be sold to the grid. The net-metering tariff will match the previous year's electricity price. The country aims for 13.6 GW of utility-scale PV and 3.4 GW of rooftop solar by 2045, compensating for lower solar generation with wind power and importing electricity from Laos.
