Water concerns sink Oenergy’s 60-MW BESS project in Chile

Chilean renewables developer Oenergy's project Halcon 5 for a 60-MW battery energy storage system in Atacama, northern Chile was denied an environmental permit due to not meeting water quality safeguards. The project aimed to invest USD 104.9 million in a BESS with a storage capacity of 316.8 MWh.
