The Welsh government has established a publicly-owned renewable energy developer named Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru. The entity aims to accelerate renewables projects, focusing on onshore wind on the Welsh public estate. Jeremy Miles, the Economy Secretary, launched Trydan Gwyrdd Cymru at an event in Bryncynon. The company plans to collaborate with Natural Resources Wales and engage with communities for wind power park development. The goal is to develop 250 MW by 2030 and 750 MW by 2040. Great British Energy, a new UK government clean power company, is also being set up. Jeremy Miles announced the Welsh government's Heat Strategy for decarbonising the heating sector.
