Work underway on Lightsource bp’s 560 MW solar project in Greece

Lightsource bp has selected Ameresco Sunel Energy SA to support the construction of its 560 MW solar project in Larissa and Fthiodia, Greece. The project will receive financing from the EU's NextGenerationEU fund and is expected to generate 0.90 TWh of electricity annually, contributing to Greece's decarbonization goals. Natalia Paraskevopoulou, Lightsource bp's Head of Country for Greece, highlights the project's positive impact on Greece's economy and energy sector. Greece has a cumulative solar capacity of over 7 GW, with Lightsource bp recently inaugurating a solar project in Poland.
