Construction works have been launched at Aussie renewable energy retailer Zen Energy’s 111-MW/291-MWh Templers battery energy storage system project in South Australia. The project, described as the second largest stand-alone BESS installation in South Australia, aims to support power deliveries to Zen Energy’s local customers and provide grid-stability services to National Energy Grid. Sungrow, the technology provider, will supply its liquid cooling PowerTitan energy storage system for the project. The project attracted an up to AUD 70 million financing commitment from US infrastructure investor Stonepeak. Installation is planned about 60 km north of Adelaide and the facility is expected to become operational by the second quarter of 2025.
