Acciona ramps up Philippines presence

Acciona Energía acquired an 80% stake in Freya Renewables, increasing its presence in the Philippines. They are expanding activities through acciona.org, providing access to electricity through solar home systems. The company committed to construct a 150MW solar power plant in Daanbantayan and is developing new wind farms in Pantabangan and Kalayaan 2. The Philippines government aims to increase the share of renewables in the energy mix. acciona.org has benefitted 600 households and plans to extend support to more homes and community centers. They are collaborating with organizations like Unicef and the Green Climate Fund.
