Actis invests in 3.5 GW/4.5 GWh of solar-plus-storage in Philippines

London-based investor Actis to invest $600 million in Terra Solar Project in the Philippines, one of the world's largest solar-plus-storage arrays. Actis' partnership with Manila Electric Co. and Solar Philippines New Energy Corp. aims to provide clean power to millions of households. Actis has expertise in global energy generation with a commitment of $9 billion to 185 projects across 35 countries. The 3.5 GW solar and 4.5 GWh battery energy storage system project covers 3,500 hectares. The first phase is expected to be operational by 2026. SPNEC is awarding contracts for solar modules and energy storage systems for the $4 billion project.
