A research group from Purdue University developed a novel model for evaluating corn growth in agrivoltaic facilities using a spatiotemporal shadow distribution (SSD) model. Their field experiment conducted in Indiana, USA, showed that optimizing tracker height, distance between arrays, and panel angle can impact yield. The study emphasized the importance of anti-tracking around solar noon. The model predicted corn yield accurately compared to field measurements.
