Cattle agrivoltaics on US ranch

An Oregon State University study shows that prime flat land near grid load is used for farmland and ranching. Agrivoltaics is a solution for the food-energy transition dilemma. Ranching in agrivoltaics benefits soil composition for animals. David McFeeters-Krone, founder of Rute Foundations, is developing Bear Valley Solar Pasture in Oregon. The project involves a fourth-generation cattle grazer, Jack Southworth. Southworth engages with Serkan Ates and Chad Higgins for pasture management at Oregon State. Southworth reached out to Ates for collaboration, and demonstration projects were initiated.
