Chinese power company to build 160 MW of solar in Bangladesh

BPDB and China Huadian to jointly build a 160 MW solar plant in Maheshkhali, Bangladesh. The plant will be constructed by Bay of Bengal Power Co. Ltd. on a surface originally designated for a 1,320 MW coal power plant. Bangladesh approved 2.19 GW of large-scale PV projects in 2023 to support renewable energy initiatives.
