CIP secures 1 GW of awards in EU green hydrogen auction

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners P/S (CIP) secured 1 GW of electrolyser capacity through the European Hydrogen Bank's pilot auction. The Danish investment firm will develop two major projects in Spain and Portugal, focusing on green hydrogen production for heavy industries and shipping. Each project, one in Aragon and another in Sines, will have 500 MW capacity, aiming to significantly cut carbon emissions. The projects are scheduled to begin operations by 2029 and will produce green hydrogen and ammonia with financial backing based on a fixed premium per kg of production.
