EC clears EUR 1bn of Portuguese state aid for net-zero equipment

The European Commission approved a EUR-1-billion state aid scheme in Portugal to support investments for the production of equipment needed for the transition to a net-zero economy. The aid will be in the form of direct grants for companies producing equipment like batteries, solar panels, wind turbines, etc. Margrethe Vestager emphasized that the measure aligns with the Green Deal Industrial Plan and the EU's climate neutrality target.
