At WindEnergy Hamburg, five European offshore wind test sites created a new alliance called HiPoTeSis to improve conditions for floating wind demonstration projects. The alliance aims to provide Europe with high-power infrastructure for testing new floating wind projects. The test sites presented action points including fast-tracking permitting system, new support schemes, and better incentives for data sharing. Key individuals highlighted the necessity of testing and demonstration projects to reduce costs in floating offshore wind and emphasized the importance of standardizing technologies to achieve targets by 2030 and stimulate innovation. They also mentioned challenges in permitting procedures and the need for substantial capital investments in grid infrastructure for the next generation of floating offshore wind turbines.
