A consortium of 22 partners has launched a project focused on the development of large-area stable perovskite solar modules across Europe, Belgium-based sustainable energy research hub EnergyVille said. The EU-funded project, LAPERITIVO, envisages the construction of a 200-MW photovoltaic (PV) pilot line and, ultimately, aims at setting up 5 GW of manufacturing capacity in Europe. LAPERITIVO targets efficiencies of 22% for opaque and 20% for semi-transparent modules. The project will explore semi-transparent modules for agrivoltaic purposes. The project paves the way for the potential commercial production of the perovskite PV technology, which is characterised by high efficiency and low production costs.
