Dublin identifies four new offshore wind areas

Ireland's first spatial plan for renewable energy at sea, the South Coast Designated Maritime Area Plan (DMAP), has been published. It identifies four offshore areas for wind energy projects, projecting significant economic impacts, including a €4.4bn investment and 49,000 full-time equivalent years of employment by 2030. The plan, which has undergone thorough environmental assessments and public consultations, is a strategic move to accelerate Ireland's offshore wind capabilities in environmentally suitable areas.
