EDF Renewables wins tender for largest PV plant in Israel

EDF Renewables, a unit of French energy giant EDF, won the Israeli government's tender to build the country's largest solar plant near Dimona in the Negev desert. The project broke record prices at less than ILS 0.07/kWh. The region will supply 700 MW of renewable energy. Solar energy is seen as strengthening the electricity grid and achieving national renewable energy targets.
