EIB lends €1.2bn to build Danish giant

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is supporting the construction of RWE’s 1100MW Thor offshore wind project off Denmark. The project involves the installation of turbines provided by Siemens Gamesa and connection to the Danish national grid by Energinet, located on the west coast of Jutland. Various governments aim to have 120GW turbines installed in the North Sea by 2030 to support the transition to a net-zero economy.
