Electricity prices falling in most European markets

Average electricity prices in major European markets fell during the last week of May. Prices decreased in several markets but increased in the Italian and Nordic markets. The highest price increases were in France, Spain, and Portugal. The French market had the lowest weekly price, while Italy had the highest. Analysis shows negative electricity prices in most markets with the Dutch market consistently recording the lowest price. Factors influencing prices included wind energy production, solar production, and electricity demand.
