The average electricity prices in major European markets fluctuated in the last week of May. Most markets saw a decrease in prices, except for Italy and the Nordic region. The largest price decreases were observed in France, Spain, and Portugal. The Dutch market consistently recorded the lowest prices. The downward trend in prices was influenced by higher wind energy production, lower electricity demand, and increased solar production in certain markets. AleaSoft Energy Forecasting predicts a price increase in the following weeks due to a forecasted decrease in wind energy production and an expected rise in electricity demand.
