Electricity prices falling in most European markets

Average electricity prices in most major European markets fell during the last week of May, with exceptions in the Italian and Nordic markets where prices increased. The largest price decreases occurred in France, Spain, and Portugal. Wind energy production and lower electricity demand influenced the price decrease. Solar energy production fluctuated across markets, notably increasing in Portugal and breaking historical records.
