French energy company Engie and Pele Green Energy are partnering to build a 75 MW solar plant, Grootspruit, in South Africa's Free State province. The project is part of the fifth bid window of South Africa's REIPPPP. Engie and Pele consortium will also develop the 75 MW Graspan array in Northern Cape province. These projects aim to cover the electricity needs of around 80,000 South African households, contributing to the country's renewable energy goals. President Cyril Ramaphosa highlighted South Africa's commitment to adding 22,500 MW of renewables to the national grid. Additionally, a 700 kW industrial heat pump was launched by Ecop Technologies, designed for industrial and district heating segments.
