European battery market growth to drop off amid falling electricity prices

Europe’s BESS fleet continues to grow in leaps and bounds, with 17.2 GWh of new BESS capacity installed in Europe in 2023. The residential segment accounted for 70% of the total capacity. Germany led the market with 34% of the European market share, followed by Italy and the United Kingdom.
