France identifies Carbon, Holosolis PV factories as ‘national interest’ projects

French solar module producers Carbon and Holosolis have secured “project of national interest” status for their solar module factory projects in France. Carbon plans to start pilot production of TOPCon and IBC solar modules in Fos-sur-Mer in fall 2025, aiming for commercial operations by the end of 2026. Holosolis, a spinoff of EIT InnoEnergy, plans to establish a module manufacturing facility in Hambach, near Sarreguemines, with a 5 GW capacity and commencement of commercial operations in 2027.
