Genesis picks Saft batteries for 100-MW project in New Zealand

Saft, a unit of French energy major TotalEnergies SE, will deliver its battery energy storage system technology for a project owned by New Zealand-based Genesis Energy. The project involves equipping a 100-MW/200-MWh facility at the Huntly Power Station on New Zealand’s North Island. The site is expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2026 and aims to add firming and flexibility assets for responding to power generation volatility.
