The Droogfontein project in South Africa; the Global Solar Council will develop a local working group for the African solar sector. The Global Solar Council (GSC) unveiled a new working strategy around three pillars: advocacy, network building, and standard setting. The GSC aims to advocate for the global solar industry and drive policy and advocacy efforts at global and national levels. They also focus on building networks, collaborating with investors, and setting new standards for the solar industry to shape a sustainable environment. CEO Sonia Dunlop emphasized the importance of providing access to solar electricity worldwide and ensuring no country is left behind.
