Heat wave triggers demand in Spain and Italy, raises prices in European markets

In the third week of July, solar photovoltaic energy production in France reached a historical record. Solar energy production fell in all markets except for a slight decrease in Italy and significant decreases in Spain, Portugal, and Germany. Wind energy production increased in Italy and Spain but decreased in Germany, France, and Portugal. AleaSoft Energy Forecasting's forecasts show varying trends in solar and wind energy production. Electricity demand increased in most European markets, with the highest increase in Italy. Prices in European electricity markets rose, except for specific markets. Brent oil futures and CO2 emission rights prices increased, while TTF gas futures prices experienced fluctuations.
