Highland Materials is set to influence the US solar manufacturing sector significantly by establishing a new polysilicon manufacturing facility in Tennessee, supported by US$256 million in tax credits. This move, as highlighted by Highland Materials president Richard Rast and Solar Media head of research Finlay Colville, positions Highland as a key player in reducing reliance on Chinese polysilicon supplies. The facility will employ a novel manufacturing process and aims to address critical gaps in the US solar supply chain.
