Ireland awards 1.3GW in RESS power deals

Ireland has recently awarded contracts to over 1300MW of large-scale renewables projects in its latest RESS auction. Solar developments totaling 960MW were successful, along with 374MW of onshore wind projects. The average winning strike price for solar was €104.76 per megawatt-hour, while for wind, it was €90.47 per megawatt-hour. Energy Minister Eamon Ryan emphasized the importance of accelerating renewable energy delivery to protect Irish households and businesses from high fossil fuel prices. Noel Cunniffe, CEO of Wind Energy Ireland, praised the positive step towards delivering the Climate Action Plan through successful wind and solar projects in the auction.
