Ireland's Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan, announced the Future Framework for Offshore Renewable Energy which aims to develop 20 GW of offshore wind by 2040 and at least 37 GW by 2050. The framework includes 29 key actions such as establishing a DMAP roadmap and a successor to the ORESS scheme. The strategy emphasizes Ireland's commitment to leveraging renewable energy to power itself and potentially export excess energy to Europe, focusing particularly on harnessing the Atlantic Ocean's potential through a planned and evidenced-based approach.
