Lightsource bp unveils plans for solar-plus-storage in Ireland

Lightsource bp has outlined a proposal to fund, develop and build a 57 MW solar and 54 MW energy storage facility near Kells, County Meath, eastern Ireland. The facility will involve a bespoke Biodiversity Management Plan to enhance the site for local wildlife. The proposed layout aims to optimize sunlight for the solar panels while supporting grazing livestock. A community event is scheduled for May 22 to inform the residents about the project. Ireland aims to have 8 GW of solar energy by 2030 to achieve 80% renewable energy in its market.
