Midsummer builds 200 MW CIGS solar module factory in southeastern Sweden

Swedish company Midsummer is set to establish a 200 MW factory in Flen, Sweden, to produce CIGS thin film solar cells, aimed at the European market. The facility, supported by a €32.3 million grant from the EU Innovation Fund, plans to begin production by 2026 and be fully operational by 2028. Midsummer's CEO, Eric Jaremalm, emphasized Flen's ideal location and supportive infrastructure. Additionally, Midsummer announced a collaboration with France's Soprasolar to integrate these solar panels into roof membranes.
