Midsummer to set EU-backed CIGS solar cells plant in Flen, Sweden

Midsummer AB, a Swedish company specializing in thin-film solar technology, has chosen Flen, Sweden, for its new mega-factory focused on producing CIGS solar cells for the European market. Supported financially by the EU with approximately EUR 32 million, the factory aims to start production in 2026, reaching a capacity of 200 MW by 2028. The selection of Flen was based on its suitable infrastructure and favorable location for material transport across Europe.
