A team from City University of Hong Kong designed organic redox mediators based on anthraquinone to stabilize and enhance the performance of perovskite solar cells. The research involved improving stability, analyzing the interaction of redox mediators with perovskite, and developing multifunctional compounds. The team achieved a power conversion efficiency of 19.58% with enhanced open-circuit voltage. The research also focused on tandem solar cells, particularly perovskite-organic variants, due to their flexibility, transparency, and cost-effectiveness.
