Neoen inks 139MW French agriPV PPA with rail operator SNCF

French independent power producer Neoen signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SNCF Energie for a 139MW solar PV plant in central France. The Le Couret agrivoltaics plant in the Haute-Vienne region will supply power to French rail company SNCF's trains. The project includes sheep grazing land in collaboration with the French Chamber of agriculture. SNCF Energie's president Olivier Menuet emphasized the company's commitment to exemplary electricity consumption, while Neoen's French development director Guillaume Decaen highlighted their early adoption of agrisolar technology. Brookfield Renewables plans to acquire Neoen, and France aims for 60GW of solar PV capacity by 2030.
